Welcome to Kitchen Klassics—a camp designed for 4th and 5th graders to learn how to prepare timeless comfort foods safely and creatively! Campers will explore easy, bake-only versions of favorites like macaroni and cheese and lasagna, craft simple sandwiches, toss fresh salads, and make healthy snacks and dips—all without using a stovetop. This hands-on experience builds confidence in the kitchen while teaching practical skills and fun ways to enjoy classic dishes.

Activities

  • Prepare kid-friendly versions of macaroni and cheese and lasagna using oven-based techniques.
  • Learn to make grilled cheese (using oven) and cold sandwich varieties.
  • Create interesting greens salads with simple dressings made by campers.
  • Create peanut butter celery sticks, yogurt parfaits, and easy dips like hummus or bean spreads.
  • Practice making a variety of no-bake dessert.
