Learning the science of physical movement
Learn the science behind how your body responds to physical activity. You’ll receive a hands-on, science-based approach to analyzing and improving human performance. You’ll learn how to work with people to develop and maintain healthy lifestyles through exercise and rehabilitation.
You'll meet exercise science and sports medicine experts who can help you explore career opportunities in health and fitness, strength and conditioning, athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, chiropractic medicine, recreational therapy, business health, physician assistant and more.
Activities
- Discover the many exciting careers in exercise science and sports medicine.
- Engage in challenging hands-on laboratory experiments and activities.
- Learn about exercise testing and program design for athletes.
- Interact with exercise science and sports medicine professionals.
- Tour GHS Life Center, a YMCA wellness center, a physical and occupational therapy clinic, athletic training, and strength & conditioning facilities.
- Grow spiritually through devotions and Bible challenges.

General Information
Arrival/Departure
When to Arrive
Camp check-in for all campers is on Sunday between 2-4 p.m. at the Welcome Center.
Day camp drop-off each day will be from 8-8:30 a.m. at the Welcome Center.
What to do When You Arrive
When you arrive on campus, follow the signs to the Welcome Center to check in. Our camp counselors will give you your camp schedule and camp T-shirt. If you have a camp balance, you can take care of it at this time.
When to Depart
Day Camp pick-up each day will be from 4:30-5 p.m. in the Welcome Center. Camps generally end on Friday at noon. Check your specific camp schedule for times of final presentations, performances or concerts that may take place after noon on Friday.
Day Campers
Day campers must live in or stay with family in the immediate Greenville area.
Campers may be required to be on campus from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on camp days. Check your camp schedule for specific details.
Day campers can also enjoy a fun highlight of our camp experience, the Bruins Bash, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Lunch and dinner are included in the camp cost.

What to Bring
Phones may be used at certain time during the week of camp depending upon activities.
A modest amount of spending money is suggested for The Den, vending machines and Bruins Shop.
Girls: One-piece swimsuit or two-piece swimsuit covering the midriff are appropriate for optional swim times at the campus pool.
Guys: Swim trunks are appropriate for optional swim times at the campus pool.

Overnight Campers:
- Twin bedding or a sleeping bag and pillow

What to Wear
Girls: For general camp activities, knee-length shorts or loose pants (yoga-type pants would not be appropriate) are normal camp attire. Tank tops, low cut tops, or crop top styles will not be permitted. For those wishing to take part in any water activities, please bring dark, loose clothing.
Guys: For general camp activities, shorts or pants with a T-shirt are normal camp attire. For those wishing to take part in any water activities, please bring dark, loose clothing.
Accommodations
Lunch will be served in our dining common in an all-you-can-eat buffet style. Any food concerns (allergies, diet restrictions, etc.) can be noted in the online registration form.
Camp Director
Vickie Britton
Vickie Britton currently works as an assistant professor at Bob Jones University where she teaches in the Division of Exercise and Sport Science. Vickie works closely with the Exercise Science majors and advises the junior and senior students and is the program coordinator for the Health & Fitness Training major. Vickie is extremely passionate about health and fitness and this passion is evident both inside and outside of the classroom. Vickie is certified as a personal trainer and a sport nutrition specialist with the National Council on Strength and Fitness
