KIDS GOLF CAMP

June 3-6, 2024  |  June 10-13, 2024 
About:
Kids golf camp is designed to introduce boys and girls to the game of golf. The camp is open to boys and girls in kindergarten though fifth grade. Our Bruins coaches and intercollegiate golf players will provide individual instruction to campers and instruct them on the components of the game of golf. Instruction will also stress the importance of using sports to glorify God.

Dates:
  • June 3-6
    • Morning Session - 9 am - 11:30 am
    • Afternoon Session - 1:30 pm - 4 pm 
  • June 10-13
    • Morning Session - 9 am - 11:30 am
Cost:
$150 ($175 after May 1)

Attendees:
Grades K5 - 5th grade (boys and girls) - limit of 40 campers


Check-in:
Monday, June 3 at 8:30 a.m. in the lower lobby of the Davis Field House
Monday, June 3 at 1:00 p.m. in the lower lobby of the Davis Field House 
Monday, June 10 at 8:30 a.m. in the lower lobby of the Davis Field House

Camp Ends:

Each day at 11:30 a.m. for the morning sessions and at 4 p.m. for the afternoon session.
Pickup is at outdoor Activity Center.


What to expect:
  • Coaching by Bruins golf team members and staff
  • Teaching the five fundamentals of golf
  • Training on essentials of the full swing
  • Instruction in basic golf rules and etiquette
  • Transportation to off-campus facilities (provided). Parents must sign a waiver consent form
  • Short game skill development
  • Daily snack and water breaks
  • Driving range sessions
  • On-course playing opportunities
  • Fun competition

Meet Coach Scott:
Dr. Denny Scott has over 30 years of combined coaching experience and is a member of the NCCAA Hall of Fame. Coach Scott joined the Bruins staff in 2013 where he founded the golf programs at BJU. Since then, he's coached the team to six appearances in the NCCAA DII National Tournament with the men's team winning the NCCAA South Region Championship in 2017, 2021, and 2022. Coach Scott views the role of sports as a tool to equip student-athletes to have an eternal impact for the kingdom of God.
