JUNIOR BASKETBALL CAMP

Daily: 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

About:

Our junior camp allows the aspiring young athlete an opportunity to be taught correct fundamentals by college coaches and athletes while enjoying the beautiful air-conditioned facilities of the Davis Field House.  Our Bruins basketball players will interact with campers to inspire and guide them in their love for the game of basketball. The focus of junior camp is to have fun while instilling correct fundamentals and form while encouraging campers spiritually with lessons from the hardwood.

June 3-6 and July 22-25

Times:

1 pm - 4:30 pm

Attendees:
Boys and girls in 6th - 8th grade


Cost:

$140 ($165 after May 1)

Check-in Time:
June 3 and July 22 - 12:30 pm - 1 pm inside the lower lobby of the Davis Field House

Camp Ends:
Each day at 4:30 pm
Parents are encouraged to come early on Thursday to see campers showing what they learned throughout the week


What to expect:
  • Daily instruction and drills focused on fundamentals and individual skill improvement
  • Daily interaction with college coaches and athletes
  • Various daily emphasis on ball-handling, passing, shooting, individual offensive moves
  • Daily games to put instruction into action
  • Fun activities and contests throughout the week
  • Awards each day for contest winners and exemplary character
What to Bring:
  • Non-marking athletic shoes (basketball/court shoes are best)
  • Labeled beverage if desired (water will be provided free of charge)
  • Snack or money to purchase snacks
  • A willingness to try new things and have fun!

Meet Coach LeViere:
Coach LeViere has over 20 years coaching experience.  He has been the women's basketball coach at BJU since the program's inception in 2012.  For four years the Lady Bruins competed as members of the NCCAA DI where they were consistently ranked in the top 25 and reached the regional championship game in 2014-15.  For the past two years, the Lady Bruins competed in the NCCAA DII and finished fourth in the country in 2017-18.  During his tenure, several players have received Division I and II All-Region and All-American honors including 2017-18 Region MVP and 1st Team All-American Sha'Ron Brunson. Coach LeViere believes athletics offer a unique platform to teach and learn practical truths that have eternal value.
