We will be exploring six styles of leading and applying them actively to ourselves and our community. Whether you’re itching to lead, passionate about making a difference or just want to become more effective at what you love, the Leadership Academy is for you. Come see what God has in store for you!

What do rock climbing, non-profits, local celebrities and improv have in common? And what on earth do they have to do with leadership? Come and find out!


  • Collaborate with other campers on a week-long team building project.
  • Develop your own working definition of leadership.
  • Set goals for your future and develop a plan for successfully meeting these goals.
  • Lead peers in group activities.
  • Grow spiritually through devotions and Bible challenges.

General Information


When to Arrive

Camp check-in for all campers is on Sunday between 2-4 p.m. at the Welcome Center.

Day camp drop-off each day will be from 8-8:30 a.m. at the Welcome Center.

What to do When You Arrive

When you arrive on campus, follow the signs to the Welcome Center to check in. Our camp counselors will give you your camp schedule and camp T-shirt. If you have a camp balance, you can take care of it at this time.

When to Depart

Day Camp pick-up each day will be from 4:30-5 p.m. in the Welcome Center. Camp ends on Friday at noon. Check with your specific camp schedule about final presentations, performances or concerts that take place on Friday.

Day Campers

Day campers must live in or stay with family in the immediate Greenville area.

Campers may be required to be on campus from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on camp days. Check your camp schedule for specific details.

Day campers can also enjoy a fun highlight of our camp experience, the Bruins Bash, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Lunch and dinner are included in the camp cost.

What to Bring

What to Bring

Phones may be used at certain time during the week of camp depending upon activities.

A modest amount of spending money is suggested for The Den, vending machines and Bruins Shop.

Girls: One-piece swimsuit or two-piece swimsuit covering the midriff are appropriate for optional swim times at the campus pool.

Guys: Swim trunks are appropriate for optional swim times at the campus pool.

Please note: BJU cannot be responsible for money, valuables or personal articles.

Overnight Campers:

  • Twin bedding or a sleeping bag and pillow
  • Toiletries
  • Towels and shower shoes
  • Bible

What to Wear

Girls: For general camp activities, knee-length shorts or loose pants (yoga-type pants would not be appropriate) are normal camp attire. Tank tops, low cut tops, or crop top styles will not be permitted. For those wishing to take part in any water activities, please bring dark, loose clothing.

Guys: For general camp activities, shorts or pants with a T-shirt are normal camp attire. For those wishing to take part in any water activities, please bring dark, loose clothing.


Lunch will be served in our dining common in an all-you-can-eat buffet style. Any food concerns (allergies, diet restrictions, etc.) can be noted in the online registration form.

Chelsea Fraser is member of the BJU Communication Studies faculty. She teaches Leadership and Communication and oversees Oral Communication for the Professional. She has held numerous leadership positions and consults developing leaders while actively pursuing leadership development opportunities herself.
