Learning the fundamentals of firearms

Shooting Sports camp is full for this year, but you can be added to the waiting list.

Gain new firearm appreciation and skills in a safe environment at BJU Shooting EDUcamp. You’ll learn the basics of holding, shooting and cleaning from current and former law enforcement officials while gaining experience with rifles, shotguns and pistols.

At EDUcamp you’ll benefit from daily devotionals and Bible challenge sessions that will strengthen your faith and help you develop a strong biblical worldview. Camp instructors will demonstrate how you can glorify God by using each new skill.

What to expect ...

  • Development of shooting skill on fixed and moving targets
  • Gain confidence to be an effective competitor in the proper spirit of Christian sportsmanship
  • Daily challenges from the Bible

  • Bedding/Towels
  • Range gear (if you have it)
  • Shorts
  • T-shirts
  • Khakis or jeans for classwork
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses

Mike Wilkie

Mike Wilkie

Dr. Mike Wilkie is a retired police chief with a total of 25 years in law enforcement. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, served as a civilian law enforcement observer at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and was selected to the Georgia-Israel Law Enforcement Exchange in 2009. He is also a certified firearms instructor with the National Rifle Association, past president of the South Carolina Chiefs of Police Association, and past executive board member of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police.
